Normal service has been resumed as our karate classes restart after the group's 8th annual weekend training camp or "Gasshuku". It ran over the weekend of 21st 22nd and 23rd of September in Wetheral, near Carlisle and provided participants with some very early starts, late finishes, intense training and a loads of fun! Stories of the weekend sessions are already echoing around the dojo.
The intensity of the Gasshuku has been known to provide some enlightening experiences to those fortunate enough to attend and it can be a pivotable time in a karateka's journey. This year has been no exception - following his experiences at the Gasshuku and in response to a warm invite from Sensei Chris Denwood, 9th Kyu Paul Stewart has now joined the senior closed dojo. He is welcomed as the first member to join the closed dojo since it was first formed from the original dojo earlier this year. For those who experienced this year's Gasshuku, why not share that experience by commenting on this item or through our Facebook page? Cheers, Dave.

It was my pleasure to see so many people at the grade examination on Sunday who had all worked very hard in preparation for the event. The standard was high, the effort inspirational and all our instructors were very proud to witness some great karate!
It was also great to see so much friendly interaction and support between members - The austere training coupled with an 'extended family' relationship is what our dojo is all about! I'd like to congratulate the following members on their successful rank promotion. Best wishes, Chris. -------------------------------------- To Provisional 9th Kyu:
