Top Army Award for Euan!

We're very proud to announce that one of our black belt members has recently won a special award during his Pass Off Parade...

Euan Renkin, who has been with us since 2016, recently joined the armed forces after leaving school and has just completed his basic training with the Soldier Academy.

He was honoured with the 'Best at Physical Training' Award for demonstrating the highest level of physical fitness and determination.

Naturally very pleased with his award, Euan has kindly acknowledged our dojo - putting much of his physical capabilities, character development and work ethic down to his years of dedicated karate training...

"I began my training under Chris Sensei as a rather shy and quiet individual. Through rigorous instruction from various teachers and Sempai (seniors), I developed both physically and mentally - a journey that significantly boosted my confidence, both inside and outside the dojo.

At its core, traditional karate training cultivates respect, discipline, hard work, attention to detail, and dedication, supporting individuals who are eager to learn and grow. These principles help practitioners evolve into the best versions of themselves.

I beleive that this foundation played a crucial role in my success during basic training, as I already had a strong baseline of physical conditioning, combined with a solid grasp of discipline and hard work within challenging environments.

Needless to say, we are very proud of Euan and we would like to congratulate both him and his supportive family on this special recognition.

We also hope that Euan's story may inspire some of our younger members to continue training hard in the dojo with determination, and resist giving in at the first, second or even the tenth hurdle!
