 This summer, our Karate Kidz camps were a true highlight for a bunch of young martial arts enthusiasts from West Cumbria! With a blend of discipline, fun, and learning, our camps in Workington and Whitehaven offered a unique experience that kept primary school kids engaged and active throughout the summer holiday season. Each day, our camp was packed with exciting activities designed to improve physical fitness, enhance martial arts techniques, develop life-skills and foster teamwork. From early morning warm-ups, specialised karate training sessions and numerous challenges along the way, the kids were constantly moving and learning. Our hugely experienced instructor team provided plenty of attention to each participant, ensuring that everyone could progress at their own pace. We covered a selection of cool karate techniques and combined these on pads, leading up to our special Ninja Challenge! We also practiced how to roll and fall safely, learned about healthy eating, personal safety and self-defence tips, completed some summer themed crafts, challenged each other in an array of Blazepod games and emphasised key character traits such as kindness, respect, discipline and perseverance...phew! As part of the camp, we also selected two 'Secret Samurai' each day, who particularly impressed the instructors. Participants were presented with a well-deserved completion certificate and we hope everyone came away having had lots of fun :) Feedback from parents and campers alike has been overwhelmingly positive. Many of these comments noted improvements not only in their children's physical abilities but also in their discipline, focus, and confidence. It's evident that our Karate Kidz camps provided not just a summer activity, but have contributed significantly to participant's personal growth. Special thanks to the Cumbria HAF Programme for their kind support in helping to make these events a huge success, to the Cumbria Academy for Autism in Workington and the United Reformed Church in Whitehaven for providing such excellent venues, plus to Sharon and the team at Truly Scrumptious at Rosehill for their incredibly tasty lunchtime catering service! Our appreciation to all participants, parents and guardians for their interest and enthusiasm in these events and we look forward to welcoming even more children at our Karate Kidz Xmas Camp in December!
